But there are lots of problems with the HomePod, which Apple needs to address. The HomePod is expensive. At $349, the price at launch, it was overpriced; at $299, its current price, it’s still not a good value. The HomePod costs $100 more than the Sonos One, which is a comparable, and some would say better speaker.

- Open an app on your Mac that can stream content. Click the AirPlay button, which looks like or, depending on the app. (This button only appears if your HomePod or another external device is on the same Wi-Fi network as your Mac.) Select the checkbox next to your HomePod in the list of devices, then choose some content to stream from your Mac.
- This April, Apple did lower the price of HomePod from its $349 introduction to $299. But it was still almost unanimously called 'too expensive' in comparison to the super cheap, entry-level WiFi.
- The HomePod is not the flop the iPod Hi-Fi was (yea, I had one of those too) but it certainly didn’t become a must-have accessory. Now if Apple would have beaten Sonos to the party, things could.
I don't think the HomePod has any kind of time limit on music playback (assuming that your playlist or music library is long enough). Also and unfortunately, if seems like the HomePod has no sleep timer for music playback nor any way to limit playback to a certain length of time, nothing like 'Hey Siri, play music for thirty minutes.'
However, there have been a good number of reports that the HomePod will not play certain songs and given the latter it would seem possible that whenever the HomePod encounters such a song it will just stop the playback even if you've requested a playlist or music source that contains additional content. So, maybe that is what you are experiencing.
Also, it's certainly possible that there is a bug that just stops playback randomly and you're just seeing that on average each hour or two. It may even be a network error since if the HomePod can't connect to one of Apple's servers it would have no option other than to stop playback.

HomePod is blessed with superb sound quality. But that doesn’t mean the smart speaker can live up to your specific taste all the time. For instance, you might find the heavy bass too much for your ears and hence would like to fine tune it Though not so straightforward, there is a way to adjust the EQ (equalizer) on HomePod.
So, how do you fine-tune the audio levels on the Siri-based speaker? Well, you have to take the help of your iPhone to get over the line. Let me show you how it’s done!
